Sample Lesson Plans
Below I have included examples of three lesson plans where I plan to incorporate information and/or network technology.
Class: Health Economics:
Lesson:
Health Insurance Basics
This
lesson would be utilized in a hybrid program that combines face to face classes
with asynchronous on-line classes every other week. The video would be part of the asynchronous
class.
Objective: Use of
WebEx and Prezi to develop easy to follow video that highlights key points
featured in the reading assignment.
Goal:
To better engage students while providing them with key information and
concepts related to new material.
Class: Project Management:
This class is also provided in a
“hybrid” format with classes meeting face to face and online alternating weeks.
·
Lesson:
Mitigating Risk
Objective: Use
of a TedEd or YouTube video to illustrate an organizations approach to a given
project or task. The video will serve as
a basis for engaging a class discussion in a Blackboard forum. Students will be asked to identify specific
areas of project management utilized by the organization in the video
particularly noting where they successfully anticipated/mitigated risk and/or
failed to do so.
Use
of the video will be incorporated as part of a weekly homework assignment to
further illustrate topics presented in an online or face-to-face class.
Goal: To incorporate a multi-modal approach to
delivering information. In addition,
helping students to assimilate new information through analysis of one
organization’s approach.
· Lesson:
Using technology for document sharing
Objective: Familiarizing
students with online resources available for team collaboration and document
sharing using a self-created Jing instructional video.
Goal: To
better engage student in online learning while providing reference-able tools
and instructions that assist in delivering new information in an easy access
and digestible manner.
